On a 10" Wheel, how wide is a 38x12.5x15 SX and same for a standard TSL... If anyone will measure a real world measurement sidewall to sidewall I could reallly use that information... Im building a flatbed for my Toyota Truck and want to mount the tire under neath the bed, but don't want to raise the bed higher than necessary... Id measure my own, but you know what, I don't have any yet... Wanna build the bed to fit the biggest tire I might ever run... Thanks...
I had the standard 38X12.50 TSL & if memory serves me correctly, it was ~13" wide on a 10" rim, maybe a fuzz more. I can't swear to that #, but I can tell you it was exactly 36.0" tall :D

My 38x12.5 TSL on a 10" rim are ~13"-13.5" @ 25 psi. If anything I'd asy 14"-14.5" and you'll be safe as well as not too tall.

You got OBA?? If so, then you can go thinner on your bed, just leaving the spare deflated and airing it up when needed...

good idea billj.....dont have OBA yet, but i guess i will have to work on that. I wander how much thinnner it will really make the tire though?
Anywho...no one has the actually measurement. It would be a great help. And possible a measure of the tire deflated to see the difference and if it would be worth the trouble of carrying a flat spare.
OK...here we go....PLEASE
38 tsl radial is 2 inches taller atleast than a 38.5 sx, we found this out by puting them side by side while swapping tires off rims.
