Anyone have a blow up or pic of the bottom of this assembly. The small 3 inch I bracket thing that uses one bolt to hold it to the caliper bracket,as well as the small "C" part. These two pieces work together to hold the brake pad assembly in place but I am not sure how.I have it back together,it just doesnt look right.Any help.

The retaining bracket is commonly reffered to as the "H" bracket. The inside pad fits into the bracket that is part of the axle. The outside pad goes in the caliper. You must squeeze the caliper closed enough so that it slides over the disc and inner pad easily with the outer pad in it. The caliper goes over the disc, and then engages fully at the top of the axle bracket. The "c" piece you reffer to is the spring.
With the retainer("H" bracket) in the proper orientation, which is with the two cut-out grooves for the retaining bolt facing back(outside) and down, the spring rests in the shallow groove over top of it, overlapping each end. These two pieces are driven in together between the caliper and the axle bracket. Tap it in so the retaining bolt lines up perfectly. Adjust it with light taps so it seats perfectly in the middle of the bracket groove or the bolt will not seat fully and hold the bracket tight. You cannot use the bolt to center up the bracket. The bolt will just stretch or strip, and the bracket will not move.
If there is a problem with the bracket threads, you can redrill and tap the bracket, and use the right hand groove. Otherwise, the left hand groove is the one that should line up. If the caliper seems too loose after installation, take the H and spring back out, and put a sharp bend in the spring, then reinstall it. Do you still need a picture? (It won't be tonight)
