I got a question about a 78 dana 44. It has that cast tube thingy on the drivers side and I don't like the looks of the thing. I got no problem pulling the drivers side tube out, cutting a piece of pipe to length and pressing it back in. My question is what can I use for an inner C that will re use all the stock parts minus the radius arms. I'll build a 3 or 4 link later, just need to dump that cast POS.

not to sound like a dink, but your better off getting a better 44 without the c wedges, but on another note do you have the rad arms? my buddy needs them for his 44 and any other parts for it you might have? but go north of winnipeg towards selkirk there was a few fords i seen sitting there, i believe one had a hp 44

I have a set of radius arms for sale if he doesn't have them. Shipping might be killer; but I'm willing to box them up if your buddy is willing to fit the bill. PM me if he's interested.

The 77.5 thru 79 3/4 ton 44's just have a forged "c" welded on at the end, and no wedges.

I thought that the axles with the cast wedges still had a short piece of tube on the C side, the tube just didn't go all the way trough. If this is the case you could just use the C you have, if not a C from any ball joint 44 should work, as long as the tube is the proper dia. For the holy grail of dana 44 info go to Mr N's site.

What are you using up front? Springs, airshocks, or coilovers? Reason for was after reading Mr.N's site it states that the 44 from the bronco's is 1/4" thick inside the "C" where as the rest of the tubes are 1/2" thick.
