I would think that they are just as bad there as on the trail.....which are bad, bring lots of bug juice:).

Yup, brutal for two hours in the evening and about an hour in the morning...bring the DEET if you want to be outside your tent in the evening

they are not mosquitos up there, they are small tiger striped vampire birds with razor sharp needle beeks.. Bring the Deet or you will be sorry

I had 100% Deet and it helped a bit... some were not phased by it, they still drew blood:laughing:!

When I was a kid we used to rope the MOSQUITOS and have them pull the boat into Pleasant Lake down where Ellis Creek flowed into it. There was about a 1/4 mile of shallos before we could float the boat and the MOSQUITOS were a big help. sure do miss Pleasant Lake.

i use Ben's and I never have a problem. I have had clouds of buggy pests flying around me and never bitten. Warning thou.. Ben's should never be placed on plastic or it will eat away at it. I found this out by spraying it on my flannel shirt ( the buttons became tacky) Also it will make your lips numb if you get it on your mouth.

The skeeters weren't too bad last weekend. I had some 45% deet that worked well the first day. Then I didn't put any on for the next two days. Hardly got bit at all.

Last week they werent too bad in the open areas but definetly need spray when around the trees or water at dusk. We even sprayed the inside of the cab to help keep em away.
