I know every one says the bulgy 5.45 is corrosive and i just wanted to see for myself. I shot a few hundred round saturday and then promptly stuck my sar-2 in the closet. I bought it out tonight to see if there was any rust inside. I stripped it and i could find no rust anywhere on the gun. But since i had it apart i cleaned it anyway. that shit is dirty though.

Also i noticed today the serial # on the SAR-2 is 0002x. Why can't i have a gun worth something with a two digit serial.

The corrosive tendencies of ammo can vary based on your general climate. More humid environments will cause it to set in a lot sooner than a generally drier environment.

Either way, I still clean my corrosive ammo guns immediately after shooting.

I've not had any problems with the corrosive 5.45 compared to any non-corrosive 5.45...
