im a jeeper and i have some decent fab skills with some good equipment including a 252 miller mig and i am in need of your guys help
a co-worker of mine has a 2002 four banger 2WD tacoma... ya... well he wants to lift it and throw on some 31's to 33's. he does not go offroading but has gone to the dunes with us before and thats the only place it will see dirt prolly. you guys have alot of killer threads in here but if you were buildin a super budgety taco for this mild use then how would you go about it.
try not to flame but i know in the jeep section it would be, hopefully you yota guys could help a brother out.
p.s. its a DD

Is the truck a Prerunner or one of the tiny 2wd Tacomas?
If it's a Prerunner then you can fit 31's stock. For this truck, I'd recommend some nice aftermarket adjustable coilovers for the front (King, SAW, Bilstein, Donahoe) and some upgraded small lift leaf springs for the rear with upgraded shocks (Bilsteins are a nice choice). Edit: Forgot to add that you *can* fit 33's on this setup if you want to bust out the sawzall. Otherwise, you can fit 32's on this setup.
If it's one of the tiny 2wd Tacomas then I'm not sure what kind of suspension aftermarket you have available to you since I don't believe the suspensions are the same as Prerunners.

Yep. Unless he does a solid axle swap up front, there isn't much aftermarket for those.

short of a soild axle swap for the front and a 6 lug axle assembly for the rear there really aren't any companies offering offroad upgrades for those trucks. there is however quite alot that can be done if he likes low-rider/sport trucks.

realistically he is better off with a custom spindle setup some of the dezert guys offer upgrading the spindle to 6 lug along with the rear. since the balljoints/steeering setup sucks stock. the taquito kit from tc is probably your best bet in kit form.
