I have 2 5.3L Long blocks.
One was from an 02 Tahoe that was in a fire. Millage unknown. I pulled the heads ( 862 castings ) everything looks good. The heat did not discolor anything which is a good sign. The oil pan, front cover, rear cover and valley pan should clean right up with a light bead blasting. I bought it with the intention of doing an Iron 5.7L but Have decided to sale it. $300
The other one was from an 03 Tahoe with 60K and was pulled at the dealer do to a coolant leak. Had 1 cracked cylinder head ( 706 castings ) which was replaced with another one from another core motor. They replaced the entire motor with a used unit so I bought the core from the tech. It is very clean and I would not hesitate to reassemble it and run it. This one still has the water pump, Valve covers, front cover, rear cover, Valley cover, Oil pan, and front ballancer installed. $400
