I might be able to search for this, but just wondering if you could help right quick. My brother in law and I found an axle at an old junkyard and picked it up for basically nothing. I think it is a D60 FF from a dually. It is an 8 lug, FF, 3.73 geared, ~50" WMS-WMS axle with drum brakes. Does my guess sound right? It was set up for leaf springs and had a pinion yoke with u-bolts. It is in really good shape and was just laying there by itself. Thanks for any help. Oh, and there was a small metal tag between the cover bolts, but he lost it.

50"?? That's way narrow for a dually. That's narrow track CJ width. Are you sure you're measuring right? WMS = wheel mounting surface. 50" backing plate to backing plate sounds more like it. If it truely is 50" WMS-WMS I'd say it came out of a trencher or a zamboni or some other piece of equipment. Don't suppose there's a matching front D60 laying around is there?

It could be a 70 too. On the webbing or cast into the pinion side of the diff there should be a number, 60, 70 or 80 cast into it. That will tell you what model it is.
I didn't see anything cast into it, but I will look again. Doh! Methinks that was 60-61" WMS! If we find the front axle, it will be under his Yota, too. We also have some 2 1/2 tons
