My buddy has a 72 FJ and he's looking for a brake booster for it. I checked napa online and rockauto, neither of the two had a listing for one. My friend said he found one but I want to say it was either 300 or 600 bucks. Any help would be great guys!

hey-
You can use a booster off any LC, and even off a minitruck, Tundra, or Celica. I am running a Tundra booster on my '71 with a '71 resevoir. The bolt pattern for the resevoirs are all the same. The pattern at the firewall may differ a little between some boosters. For example, the Tundra booster's pattern was slightly different and I had to wallow out the holes in the firewall to make it fit.
The mid to late 70's boosters are a dual diaphram (more power), early 70's single (less power). But the early 70's boosters are smaller, allowing more room. The tundra, celica, and minitruck boosters are all also small.

cheers-
Dustin

Ok cool:) I'll go from there but might have some more questions.

remember, some boosters have the check-valve attached to the booster...while others have them in-line.

I'm running a booster from a supra, which bolted right up after rotating 180 degrees.

whenever a booster is replaced:
remember to verify the booster-rod length...ask me how I know :shaking:

Please forgive me.....I am a cruiser newbie!! :homer:

I have a `69 that I need to rebuild (the whole rig ). I have a 94 mini truck booster and master. It has a non power master cylinder on it right now. Is this going to be a problem to put on the `94 setup. Just eye balling it, the rib on the fire wall looks to be in the way. I know search....I have been searching soo much in the last few days my head is spinning!! :D If the rib is in the way and I cut it out, should I reinforce the firewall there? Flame on!!!:flipoff2:
