Maybe he's the ebay guy.
Macgyver 07-25-2002, 08:25 AM i was thinking that, or someone that already bought them and trying to make a quick turnaround.
wngrog 07-25-2002, 08:35 AM
Woytovich 07-25-2002, 08:39 AM Not the ebay guy, or someone trying to make a quick turn around... I did the work to obtain the fiche, have them scanned, fronted LOTS of money and am now selling them (at a reasonable price I believe) to the LC community. They have been a great resource for me.
Sorry I did not contribute first, I am a long time contributor to the LCML and should know better I suppose. I apologize for the breach in etiquette... I will give as much as I can to this great BBS (and it IS great)
Mark

The toyota "EPC" CDs are available for free sumwhere on the web... (lo-speed connexion unfriendly) model coverage 1980 and up I think, european market (sorry no FJ55...) but since I don't want to do miserable counteradvertising, I won't post the link spontaneously.:flipoff2:
Bye,
Stupid frnch jackasS 07-25-2002, 09:24 AM The original fiche contents are (c) TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION. [...] YOU MAY NOT SELL, TRADE, GIVE AWAY OR OTHERWISE TRANSMIT COPIES OF THE CONTENTS OF THIS DISK. THIS INCLUDES POSTING OF THESE .pdf FILES IN ANY ONLINE FORUM FOR ACCESS BY OTHERS.
Mmmh, by doing so, would we enfrain the copyright YOU or TMC has on such items ?
DO you actually have an authorization for SELLING these CD ?
Sidenote : don't get me wrong, but I may be nervous on the subject of making money on someone else's copyright. In fact, I happen to have scanned and/or distributed (and/or published on the web) quite some cruiser-related technical documents, and did so for absolutely free, just as some friends who sent or lent me the documents, either in electronic data or on paper. No way I would ever think about doing what Woytoywitch does. Anyway... :p
Bye,
Woytovich 07-25-2002, 09:44 AM FYI: Regardless of whether you give away or sell (illegal) drugs you are guilty of trafficing in (illegal) drugs... Giving away or selling... no different.
If you are not comfortable with buying... don't.

Stupid frnch jackasS 07-25-2002, 09:58 AM Hey Mark,
Take no offense from what I said. This was my personnal views only, and I don't judge by no means. The disclaimer "do as I say, don't do as I do" was a good laugh, though...
As for buying the CD, no thanks. I already have the copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of the original of #2, and also have the scanned version of the copy of a copy of #3 original...
Heck, I'm going to spend $20 into a red star soon, to thank the people here for their help and contributions to my landcruiser adventures. (especially those who will know who they are...)
Anybody has a free set of spider gears for a SF to give away ? :D
,
fj40guy 07-25-2002, 10:14 AM Hey Mark,
Welcome aboard. Don't worry about everyone getting on your case too quickly, just checked out your web page... looks like another cruiser head!
I actually have a set of the fiche, and an old fiche reader. Must admit at times it is bulky and a pain, but worth it's weight in gold to hang the part guy a list of part numbers to insure I get the right stuff on my '79 FJ40.
I'm usually up in Hauppauge a few times a year... went out and caught a Ducks game last time I was up that way! Funniest one was telling my SO that I was going to stop in a McDonalds for a quick bite.... she started screaming at me "You're in NY, idiot... go to Kosher Deli!!!!" Must admit, much better than McD!
Oh, just a FYI the official friendly welcome is :flipoff2:
So welcome Newbie :flipoff2:

You really need some spider gears?
As for sending in $20, you may want to wait a week or so, the way the dollar is taking a shit against the Euro, you will get it for 1/2 price :(
Stupid frnch jackasS 07-25-2002, 12:09 PM Nolen,
Yep, the spiders are for the half-welded *selectable* prototype.
Teeth condition is not important, inside spline is. I made an offer in a few suitable posts in the for-sale, I'll see what I can get with $5...
As for the EURO/$, I'll wait a bit more so that I can have it for free... (did you notice the europeans stocks were dropping far worse than the $ ? :crybaby2: Not that I have lots of shares but still...)
Anyway I don't have a digicam yet (maybe my end-of-placement bonus will solve this eventually) so the red star is not that urgent...
Damn, enough about money  !

Jettech 07-25-2002, 04:28 PM That CD would be fine and dandy, if I had some Toyota parts on my 40 :flipoff2: :D
climbermike 07-25-2002, 06:35 PM Where's my fawkin star :flipoff2:
YO Sanford!
Guys, Mark W (the guy selling the cd's) is a real cruiserhead. His backyard looks like Fred Sanford's, hence why we call him Sanford.
Give him a round of crap though, because I'm sure he deserves it for something!
Sanford - got time next Friday (8/2) to get that beater to PAP? Looks like JH and I may be headed out. Have a new goal of running every trail, from stock to breaker (minus a few) by end of summer.
