Has anyone heard anything regarding the restricted areas at Disney? Are they still in effect? Any more restrictions?

Okcrawler??

Thanks
Jason

Nothing has changed that I have heard of. The last word, everything is open except the Playground (directly at the foot of the second dam).

An area highway patrolman has been harassing trucks on the main road, so make sure you have your insurance verification IN the vehicle. If you are not tagged and insured, you need to stay off the state highway (travel via the river bed between areas). This seems to only occur during major holidays....

Memorial Day when I was there the road leading down to the WaterFall area was all 1-2 foot woops. Is that to slow people down or to keep street rigs out, or is it still that way. When I went down for ProRocks I never checked it.

Is the HP only checking registration and insurance. Or are they checking other things? Like tires outside the fenders, cracked windshields, etc????

There is a plan to build several dams on the lower river and put in trout parks for the winter. To do this, they have to get heavy equiptment down that road (going past waterfall). They built up the road with fill, then we got a bunch of rain, and well you saw the result.

The HP is using tire coverage and others as excuses to pull trucks over. During prorocks they pulled over a bunch of the competators because one lake patrol got his buddy highway patrol to harass us (he has a personal problem).. [Note: NO TICKETS WERE ISSUED, only warnings].. That sparked a political debate between the city of Disney and the State (it's a state highway running thru town). To keep this story from getting too long, since it is Politics it's very unpredictible. They may bother you, or they may not. The HP is using lack of insurance as reasoning. So, until this is settled everyone needs to be aware of this situation, and the legality of their vehicle on the state highway....

I understand.

How are the coils holding up. Everything good? Our next trip will probably be Labor Day weekend and I hope to have my front coiled by then.

This weekend the Camp Jeep thing is going on here in town and in Branson, they are predicting 3000 Jeeps and 8000 people. They have built trails at 2 differnt locations and we've preran them the past few weeks. Hall and Oats is playing tonight and the BLues Brothers are Sat. night.

What is up with these Camp Jeep people? It's like an MG rally or something. I've seen sooooo many stock height Jeeps with stock tires with every imaginable bolt on goodie.......it's sad...

 Are they still alive... :)

I had never heard of much wheelin' in Missouri. There is a lot of potential. I spend several years in Rolla (UMR), there could be some awesome trails in that state.

If you find any good wheelin' spots (with some decent challenges), we'd be interested in coming to visit. We're always looking for new adventures (maybe wait 'till after August ;) ).

But, 3000 broken heeps, that's just scary...

The coils are awesome! I need to do some clean up work, but that is by far the best thing I've ever done to the truck! It rides better than my tow rig, and gets better gas milage! It hard not using it for my DD, but I don't want to waist my TSL's on pavement....

Labor day will be a freek show around Disney. Extreme4Wheelin' has typically sponsored a Labor Day run. However, another group did such a great job last year, that we don't feel like compeeting with them (and this way we can join in their fun). Live bad, mechanical bull, just anything you could think of. Russ's place will be packed!

FREAK SHOW!!!

Maybe our circus won't be the only one in town then..............

Yea, up by Rolla there are quite a few good areas if only we could get some land permission. The Camp Jeep bunch have built a few trails just south of Branson and there are a couple good climbs in them and some good rocks to play on but I don't think it is going to be accessible after Camp Jeep. There are also some trails Camp Jeep built to demo the Rubicon about 7-8 miles south of my house that I am hoping I can gain access to after the Camp leaves town. Around Branson and points East of there I know of several very rough areas but most of it is part of the Mark Twain National Forest and not accessible. We are working on some stuff though. Also my family has a farm about an hour from Springfield that I've been trying to build a few good "rough" ares. Until then we'll keep goin' to OKlahoma and Arkansas.

hey superzuki, are you a member of OJT?? if not, you should get with us, as we are the ones who mostly built the trails for Camp Jeep at both Branson Creek and Highlandville... Branson Creek is extremely torn up now, since it had like 2500 vehicles through it in a 3 day period... some of the easier and intermediate stuff has become quite hard there... We've not gone back yet, but once we do, it's going to be fun... if anyone wants to see pics

those are all the pics i've taken during trailbuilding and what not...

No- I'm not a member of OJT but I do kinda stay up to date on their web site and stuff. I ran the trails in my TJ about 2-3 weeks before the Camp and they were fun, I also ran them the next weekend with my Dad's willy's. Were you there then, you'd probably remember rhe green flat fender.

I ususally only wheel the Samurai on hard stuff since the TJ and the XJ are drivers. How open is the OJT to "almost jeeps?"

is it a green flatfender on a suzuki frame?? if it is, then I remember you from the pre-run and we talked even... as far as almost jeeps, at the pre-run in june, we had a toyota and an "s-10"... besides, you have at least one jeep...

Yup- that's the one. My Zuk is white with full width 44's, MPI V6, 700R4, Dana 300, YJ springs, 5.89's etc. It's not a real jeep but has as much Jeep in it as any well built jeep does.

I guess I don't "understand"......

I'd like to go back down and run Branson Creek again or even Highlandville. I was going to try to make it up to the OJT meeting last night but didn't have time.

Do you know if they need any windshield banners, or other vinyl stickers????

okay, then we talked that day... I drive an all black tj with 33s... has Ozarks Jeepthing on the bottom of the tire carrier... We talked on an uphill part, although I think I was riding that day... I don't know if we need any stickers or anything, someone has them made already for the most part... But yeah, I know who you are now... I'm younger, really skinny guy... Was talking to you about flatfenders and stuff...
