: How Much Does you Sammy weigh?
fatkid 07-25-2002, 10:37 AM We had the chance to weigh the Zuk, with Toy axles, stock 1.3L motor, stock tranny, stock t-case, rear tube frame, almost no body, Champion Beadlocks with 33x14 Boggers it comes in at 2340 lbs. What do you run and whats it weigh? Doing some figures.
Rudezuk 07-25-2002, 10:42 AM Im figuring mine to be about 2800-3000.......D44's, 37's, 10" steel beadlocks.....heavy front and rear bumpers...1.6 16valve...full cage....................... .256 wall dlines....
yeah its up there!
Bill4rest 07-25-2002, 10:47 AM I'm right at 2600....
5 steel wheels/ 5 33" BFG's/cage/rocker guards/front and rear bumpers/full tank O gas/XD8000i

What are ya running for axles?
yager 07-25-2002, 11:42 AM I "was" a little over 2700 with driver (160#)
was stock zuke, rear tubed, full front exo, half-cab, fully stock driveline, toy axles, toy shafts, winch, AR767s w/ 32 TSL radials. AND doors on.
I am mid way through tubing 80% of the zuke and have removed alot of stuff and added some back on. But hope to consolodate where there were overlaps...
no more dedicated rocker/sliders.. now activly participating in the "cage". Lower frame will be the skid plate and all stuff will get droped in from top... + integrated seat/belt bars
Id like to loose 400 off above number... (i can drop 80# by loosing the doors...)
see here for pics for WIP (work in prog..)
pic 1 (http://www.yager.net/zukin/zukipuke/frame/dscf0463.jpg)
note: the old slider will be removed. Door will shut over the new (shiny) tube in pic.
pic 2 (http://www.yager.net/zukin/zukipuke/frame/dscf0458.jpg)
more pics in root of /frame dir.... and yes im cutting corners on the fab/build up ...
edit: removed pics / put links realized im at work on T3s

okcrawler 07-25-2002, 12:04 PM D44's, 33" TSL Radials on steel beadlocks. Full external cage, X8000i, 1.6L, Sami tranny, GRSII, dual batteries, includes driver (160lbs), no spare tire....

Stock, with Lockrights(5 lbs maybe?) in both diffs and pumkin hats (45lbs I think)
edit*** I also had a full body on it at the weigh in. ie. targa/doors/windshield/soft top/and all three seats:)
Hopefully I'll stay the same after my build up with the toy axles and 35" MTR/BFG KM (whatever I can get cheaper:D )
350 Samurai 07-25-2002, 03:43 PM I'm kinda afraid to say, but mine weighs 4500#.
That is actually lighter than any other Rockwell equipped rig that I know.
Samurai body and frame
44" Swampers
full exterior cage
V-8
turbo 400
NP 205
mikrosilakhan 07-25-2002, 04:49 PM 2400 last i wieghed it.
zukstur 07-25-2002, 08:31 PM mine tips the scales at 2710 full of fuel. I could shave 70 lbs off of the front by removeing my front bumper, and another 50 by removing the windshield. I'm running a EB front dana 44 in the rear and a dana 30 up front. power steering, tubed out chassy, 16 v 1.6 automatic 37 swampers and a 6000lb winch.

hey, you got any pics of your rig? (web site?) I'm gathering up a colection of photos for when i redo my front suspension (coils/links) next year. Plus im not an engineeer so any "working" tube frames gives me more to learn from...
I see alot of cage on frame cages which have diffeent goals/requirments than a full on tube chasis.
Any help appreciated..

nuttzack 07-26-2002, 08:56 AM when I got done with mine I weighed it at my pop's work and it tipped the scales at 2380 with toy axles, no front fenders, no tailgate, 1.3, 37" boggers, coils, steelies, but no cage ( which wasn't too smart) Now that I rolled the shit outta her, she's gonna loose some weight. No doors, windshield, targa, and it's chopped behind the cab. Depending on how crazy I get with the tube, figure it will weigh right around 2300 with full cage and rear tube frame.
Does anyone know the exact weight of the doors, targa, windshield and frame?

About 4.5 pounds :D

Sweet, I saved 4.5 pounds by not running all that junk.:)
TNToy 07-27-2002, 01:42 AM I guess that's one neat thing about Toys vs. Zuks... For Geiger to get his Toy down to 2600 pounds, he had to cut the *whole* body off (yes, literally) of the frame, bend some tube, and a couple of lexan panels.
You have to DO STUFF TO A ZUK to get it up to 2600 pounds. :D
fatkid 07-27-2002, 10:06 PM That is funny, I've done all kinds of stuff to mine and it's still under 2600lbs...

dont forget how much beefier the toy tranny, cases are than what you have. aluminum engines are real sweet tho....
Roksamy 07-28-2002, 03:22 PM i am currently under re-construction , but i'm anticipating 2200 lbs
using 1 3/4 chromoly tube , extreme front and rear body cutting , D44's and 36in tsl's on 15x8 alloys, (I only wiegh 140!)

What wall thickness for your Cromo? How much of the frame are you using? How do you think the TSL will work with the a 2200lb rig. I found that the Boggs I run just don't work with my 2340lb rig, I'm leaning towards the MTR's.
