I was wondering what kind of corrosion issues anyone has had to deal with in a daily driver Disco or Rangie from the rust belt. I know that Discos haven't been around quite 10 years but there must be some 15-20 year old Rangies kicking around.

Is the aluminum body a "panacea" for avoiding rust in a daily driver? Do other problems come up?

Got pics of problems or good news? Post em up!

oh god!!! dont make me take pictures of the junk range rover in the garage! it hurts just to look at it!

if you have to ask this question then you are obviously VERY new to land rovers!!!

they are famous for looking completely rust free from the outside (aluminum) but then as soon as you get below the carpets and under the truck, rusty as hell!

a few words for you.

floorpan
footwells
sunroof drains
B pillar
frame
every nut and bolt

and the aluminum body has a fault too, called galvanic corroision. this is the corroision that occurs when aluminum and steel are placed in contact with each other with no rubber buffer. what happens is the aluminum just starts to go away and turn into a white powder.
