I just came from a trip to upstate New York. And I did some wrecking yard shopping for cruiser parts while I was there.
I found mostly junk and rusted out leftovers.......

BUT....

In a yard outside of Delhi, NY there is a 1979 FJ40 that was complete. I bought the hard top and the windshield frame, but there is still a good Disk brake front axles and 4speed tranny/transfer with a 2F engine complete.
The differentials will have 3.73 gears, but if anyone is interested, the old man who runs the yard told me that he would sell the complete front axle for $250

Just a FYI if anyone in the area is looking. The guy who runs the yard is very cool and just tells ya to get what ya want, and bring it down and he will make you a deal. The cruiser is about 3/4 the way up the hill, in plain view.

P.S. I bought the late model vent window hard top complete for $80. and it is perfect without rust.

I was visiting my father who is in Upstate NY this summer working at a Boy Scout camp outside of Oneinta(sp?)

I just wanted to check out the wrecking yard scene there in NY while I was there.
