What do you guys run in the diffs, tranny, trnsfer?
I'm thinking 85/140w in the diff??

It's not really hot up here in CT all the time but this would be for summer avg: 65-85 degrees

...winter...I might go to 75w90??

What about ATF in the tranny!!??

I found this in a search...

WTF!!!

trans oil

Sorry, I've no knowledge of Samurai's - What oil does the trans & trf case take? 90 weight or 80-90 weight? While I'm at it, how about the diffs? TIA

the manual sudgests 75w-90.if you plan to own your sammy for a long time a factory manual is the best invest ment you can ever make for your sammy .
i run 80w-90 because it seems to be more easy to come by around where i live at .the gear oil in the tranny, tranfercase, and diffs are all the same.manual says change every 15,000miles or every 12 months.

DON'T cringe but ATF works very well in the trans, dont use it anywhere else......

I run 89-90 all round, My opinion is 85-140 is to heavy. I'd add 10% ATF to make cold mornings a lil easier to shift but i'd go no more than that.

I run 90-140 or something like that in mine cause it's free and it works fine and gives a little added protection

I tink the FSM HIGHLY RECOMMENDS (yes, they put it in caps) 75-90w.

I just changed all mine to 80-90 weight. Tractor Supply sells large 2 gallon jugs for a good price, enough to change all fluids. The FSM I believe reccomends 80-90 in hot weather areas, never gets real cold here usually so I went with that.
