Hey, got a front 60 im putting under a 92 C3500 dually towrig-work truck , anyone have a rec on front springs for non lifted height. Chevy diesel engine and dually so they need to be pretty stiff. Figure it will end up high enough just doing the SAS and need to pull a gooseneck so dont want lift springs.

Saw in one thread a guy used 79 3/4 ton chevy rear springs in the front of a trail rig but it seemed real tall- too much arch?

Should I just get front springs out of the yard from a ford or dodge 3/4 or 1 ton big block or cummins? Too stiff?

Thanks

so....why not just get the leaf springs out of the front of a chevy diesel:confused:

front springs from a Ford diesel superduty or older, just as long as you dont go to the newer ones with the coils up front you've got plenty to choose from that'll support the weight.

Thanks for the ford suggestion, I have the K30 front springs that came with the dana60 but dont like the sacked out reverse arch and lightweight look of them.

Why not just put airbags in the front with leaf springs to locate the whole deal.

Yeah, that sounds like a decent idea, run the Leafs that came with the D60 and add bags for some extra help

Major score: 03 F350 diesel front leafs pulled out at 3k miles due to lift kit. $40 but took 40 bucks gas to go get them. Like brand new, I didnt want to use 25 year old springs with a million miles on them. They are 54.5 in long. 27 in from front eye center to the center bolt. Three inch wide. Main leaf .625 thick at center taper to .375, second leaf which is full length .562 thick at center taper to about 5/16. At the front the two leafs are both wrapped around the bushing. Looked at a couple of the online spring rate calculators and they say about 750 lb in. per side I assume?

Im going to start a build thread in the chevy section in a few weeks after I get my redstar. Will be a 92C3500 dually flatbed SAS dana60 srw style because I hate the look of dually front wheels. Yes it will have different wheels on front and back.

Will try to track down a dodge divorced np205 and put it about where the carrier bearing is now.
