I am looking into getting a 1980 F350 (non dually) 4x4 to use as a work truck and tow vehicle. What can you tell me about problems with smog checks since it is coming from Oregon into Cali, and needs to be smogged to be registered. Any other helpfull info would be appreciated. Would these vehicles have problems with overheating or any other problems I should know about. I have not really taken a good look at it yet, but I think the price will be right. Thanks for helping a Jeep guy.

don't know about smog but FYI, the 1980 F-350 will NOT have a solid front axle. it will be the TTB Dana 50. Just putting that out for you, if you were under the impression it had a D-60.
