Gratz on your run. Yota engiens are HEAVY. If you're building a mud-runner, a 1.3L with side draft carbs, cam & metro bottom end would rev better. I think a rotary engine would be the ultimate bad-ass for mud, but would be crap in rocks.

haha there was actually a guy that took a mint 88 rx7 and boughta very nice 89 samurai ( know the old owner ) and stretched the frame ( two pieces of angle iron not even touching in the middle ) ripped the body and motor out, and put the rxy body on it. couldnt believe he would ruin two nice vehicles to make one gay one.... he was doin ok but then something happened and it just stopped... had the stock samurai drivetrain up to the transfer case then a modified jack shaft to the rx7 tranny. looked gay in my own head. should have grabbed some pics but i didnt

finally got the suzuki done. IF you dont know i put geo tracker 1.6 8v in it carbed, linked the front, toyota power steering, little rust repair, 6.5:1 in the transfer case and yota axles. got a set of Q78's last week and went to oxford maine for the mud runs. met a guy up there with a nice jeep on full size axles and 44s? maybe. nice rig he didnt run it more of a rock crawler. he is on here somewhere maybe he will chime in. anyways the mud was thick as hell and tried to hit it in 3rd launched good just couldnt maintain rpms. kicked her in 2nd and made it in 57.47 seconds ( allowed 1 minute 200 foot track ) one other samurai there with a 20r yota motor and yota tranny,transfer and brand new 33 boggers he didnt make all the way before he timed out the first time. had to get towed out the last time. check out my myspace for the video of me goin in it nothing that great thoe. there was some really nice trucks there running 4 second runs. really built motors just skimming across it
