well as some of u might have heard i got stranded after doing some mild wheelin over the weekend. My torq converter seems to be locked. Put the bitch in gear and she stalls. if you run in 4low and stomp it it will go and befine once the rpms come up.

i need to figure out whats wrong.... thoughts are just electrical cause it came on so sudden. there is something like 4 fuses 2 relays and a selenoid somewhere.

any ideas? i would like to try evertyhing i can before i pull the tranny and im trying to get fixxed for another run this weekend.

thanks

Sounds like the converter won't unlock. Not sure if there is a lockup silenoid like GM or not. GM calls theirs TCC silenoid and they faild quite frequently. Either the converter is stuck in the locked position or the tranny thinks you are going down the road at highway speed.

ok here is what i found

there is a hose that runs from what looks to be the back of the tranny up around the tranny to the top of the bellhousing on the passenger side. it is on a hanger on one of the bolts. there is a wierd black plastic thing on the end almost looks like a mini filter or something. there is a hole on the other side that looks like it could be plugged into something but there isnt anything around it. now if i sit behind the tcase there seems to be a hole on the back of the engine dead center at the top of the tranny i cant tell what it is. mabey there was a hose that goes there or soemething? is this a vacume line or something like that?

also i found the torq converter lockup selenoid connector. im going to unhook that and see if the jeep moves. if it does then thats my problem right... bad selenoid?

im gonna try and get a pic tonight but no promices. let me know if u have any ideas.

thanks

ok i pulled the plug on the torq converter selenoid and the jeep did the same thing.

now im getting codes from the jeep too. i plugged the thing in and im still gettin codes. the jeep doesnt want to crank over either the first time.

here are the codes and what dirt road says they mean. im gonna hook the scanner thing from the shop to the computer and see what i come up with.

11 No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking. Intermittent loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor. CKP sensor target windows have too much variation.

37 Relationship between engine speed and vehicle speed indicates no torque converter clutch engagement. An open or shorted condition detected in the torque converter part throttle unlock solenoid control circuit. Incorrect input state detected for the Park/Neutral switch. Auto only.

47 Battery voltage sense input below target charging during engine operation. Also, no significant change detected in battery voltage during active test of generator output circuit.

any suggestions?!?!?!!?!? DOH!!!!

hmmm, just pull that poor little tranny outta there, fix the vent, fix the valve body, get a better cooler, build it and be done.

or get a 727.

well i pulled the codes and the biggi i think is that it says the tcc reads no voltage, a short or open circut detected.

any ideas?

The hose on the outside would be the vent, it sounds like the TCC is dead to me. Its possible that you need to replace the CPS (crank positioning sensor).
