So lets say the sides of my AK aren't very even and there are also pinholes that need filling. Could I skim the sides of it with some JB weld, sand and paint and expect it to hold up? Or is there some other product I should be looking for?

Looks like some good shit there... I'll have to hit up Robert's Oxygen near my house and see what they have... I need to fill Paige's dad's Oxy acetylene tanks anyway.

DuraFill?
Cant follow the link from work. "This site is blocked. Content:Weapons"
Weapons, WTF this is a DoD network :shaking::shaking:
Anyway I have used durafill and it works great on pinholes and grinder marks.

Yes Durafil. Do you sandblast, then apply it or apply then blast? I'll probably be using a fairly soft media as 90% of my 9mm AK is already bare metal that just needs a tooth for the duracoat to stick to.

I picked up some lab metal and solvent today... $40 for the small containers, which would still be enough to do 100 of the job I need to do LOL, so if anyone in my area needs to use it for something, let me know and I'll share LOL
I figured the solvent might be good to thin it out and try and smush it in the pinholes a little better, plus it should go on a little bit smoother I'm thinking...I need to pick up a putty knife still though, somehow in all the tools I own, a putty knife is NOT included LOL

SB first.
Apply the Durafil to bare metal or park.
You can build up coats like doing sanding primer on a vehicle. Smooth with 220 between coats
