My buddy asked me to post this for him

Early december 07 my buddy dropped his sammy off to Dave King to get a sumo motor, yj conversion and power steering put on to his rig. Dave told him it would be done faster if he paid up front, my buddy stupidly did so. well it took untill july to get it back, Dave kept giving him the runaround and making excusses on why it was taking so long. 7 months it took and Dave called my buddy and told him it was done, that day dave took it for a test drive and blew his own motor, he said it was the old freeze plugs in the head??? why would he put old freeze plugs in a new head??? he replaced the motor and my buddy went and picked it up. the motor did have more power than befor but not nearly as mutch as Dave was claiming, dave also reused all the old wires, sparkpugs and even belts that were cracked which were all suposed to be replaced in the deal. the suspention fab was satisfactory at best, bad welds, using f150 shock towers instead of the hoops that were suposed to be on there and the worst was that when my buddy was driving it home he discovered the u-bolts were only hand tight in the rear and not mutch better in the front. as for the power steering, it never got done. Dave told him he could not find the parts to do it in over 7 months!!!! he adventually cut his losses and washed his hand of dave king and his aisian auto company in goodyear Arizona and is curently having the mistakes fixed by another outfit

The major complaints here are
Bad customer service
crappy work
Takes way to much time
dose not double check his work
over all dosent really seem to give a shit about his work or his customer

My buddy dosent want any thing from Dave he just wanted to warn every one about him and to tell about his nightmare of a time dealing with him.

a lot of people tell me he is a good guy with a greate reputation and mabe at one time he was but as far as im concerned he is a piece of shit that nobody should trust with there rig unless you dont care about quality and you have alot of time to wait. That is all carry on

I hate to hear that about your buddy and Asian Auto.
I am one of those people that have had nothing but the best experience with Dave and Co.
One time bought a head from him and put the head gasket on backwards and it siezed. Dave sent me a new one for next to nothing with no core charge. Over a year later, while cleaning out the shop I found the siezed head that I forgot to send back. I gave Dave a call to apologize and to let him know I was sending it back. We ended up talking about wheeling for 20 min.
Another time he walked me through step by step how to turn my weber into the rock crawling webers that he sells.

He's alway's been a great guy but I havn't bought anything from him in a long time and I guess people sometimes change.

Good luck to your buddy
