$333 is best I could do on a ticket to Dallas. I'll have to wait until my wife comes home to see what she thinks. I'm thinking no. We are scheduled to have a baby in December. So, it wouldn't be really cool for me to leave for a weekend and spend money too. But who knows maybe she'll go for it. And yes I feel stupid for not clicking on the book cover. Just remember I'm an hour earlier here and I wasn't quite awake yet.

I think that would be cool, but, isn't that guy in the fj60 and his wife the new record holder? just wondering, it was on the site a month or so ago. i don't think he has a book though. too bad i'm not closer!

Nothing on the web as being direct to Dallas on SWA, but if you call you can get a connection through Houston and I bet it will be cheaper.

Nope, $348 to Houston from Boise on SWA. The drunks have the best price. I bet I could get them down a bit to if I did the priceline thing. This is a big problem in Idaho as our airport isn't very active so we don't get a lot flights. Most of our flights go to SLC, Seattle, Portland, San Fran, LA, Vegas, or Phoenix. When I lived in Wyoming and Montana it was much worse. I did find out something sort of cool. I could fly out Sat. morning and be in Dallas between 1-2 and then fly back Sunday and be back by 3. She'd hardly know I was gone. How far is this place from the airport? Taxi or rental car?

Shoot! A ride in Wilbur too! I think I better go feed my wife's horses, mow the lawn, and clean the house a little. I've got to convince my wife now.

I talked with my wife. She said sure go and have fun. I know why I keep her around. And the only task I got to was feeding the horses. She did mention that I needed to finish the trim on the back of the house before I did anything else though. Is this 100% for sure thing? If so, I'll start booking a flight. What are the chances of them having another set of drunk pilots? I've never been to Texas. It is too bad I can't stay awhile and really check things out.

For those of you who have not read the book, you don't know what you are missing. I just reread it again a few months ago, and it was just as exciting and funny as the first time I read it. You can buy it from the TLCA www.tlca.org or www.amazon.com or Barnes and Noble etc.

Head on out this way... but you really need to drive your CRUISER out! :D

Or you could jump in with me and come out a MONTH early (need to do a banzai run to pick up a car in PHX next month). [Empty trailer from Austin to PHX]

I was fortunate enough to get to retrace much of the same route that is in the book through Afghanistan and Pakistan last November. I attached a pic from Pakistan. I cannot wait to get to meet Harold............
