I would agree for the most part, but over the years I have had issues with them. Even with that, their service is very good compared to most.

I have a Dillon 450 and a 550 along with lots of Dillon dies/conversions in the reloading room.
Talked to some jackass at Dillon about having the 450 upgraded to a 550,he told me,and i quote" quit being a cheap bastard, sell it to some loser for a hundred bucks and buy a 550" .
Prompty hung up the phone.
I keep telling myself that maybe he was having a bad day,but i still cannot bring myself to place another order with them.
RCBS on the other hand, nothing but good to say.

I've had them be a bit condescending on the phone. They still sent me the parts I needed.

The vast majority of reloading equipment manufacturers have fantastic service. It isn't really unique to Dillon.

Could you elaborate on this a little?

Being that they have a lifetime warranty that applies to anyone that has their press and not just the original owner, and they don't require any kind of reciept or proof of purchase, I wouldn't either.

You're going to snub good products and service because a nutjob was on the phone one time? I would have gotten his name and called back asking for a supervisor. I'm sure Dillion management or ownership wouldn't have approved of the behavior and would have canned that guy in a minute.

Dillion doesn't make a single stage press and RCBS makes a lot more than presses. I own a single stage RCBS press and a Dillion 550. There is no one company that makes the best of everything.

Not always. I like Dillon, and I like their service most of the time, but they've irritated me a time or two. I have had occasion to use Redding, RCBS, Lee, and a few others CS. Lee is kind if ho hum, RCBS is top notch.

me 2! i have WAY WAY too much money wrapped up into my 550 to make it worth selling and rebuying to a 1050 or even a 650 for that matter.
