Hmm, so you are really looking for a pink to green sticker your newer bike right? Just because you don't have a bill of sale on a "85 CR 125" does'nt mean you cannot register it!!! I'm not buyin' your story!!! Be honest, or I will delete your post....

You may not be a liar, but prety lame if you cannot register the bike legally. You dont even need a bill of sale, just tell the DMV that you've had the bike for a long time and you have no paper work on it. You'll probably have to take it to the CHP to have it inspected. But at least it will be legal. If you use a bogus "title" thats what I meant by pink slip, and you ever get caught, well your in trouble.

And no, you will not get a red sticker with that bike when you register it, you will get a green sticker.

Also if your friend that sold you the bike is no longer around to write a new bill of sale, you just tell the DMV that. I've done this a few times with no problems.

Listen to dog walker he is right!!!! You do not want to register your bike with someone elses vin on it.
I bet that carries some stiff penaltys, maybe even jail time if get
caught.
And yes you should be able to register your bike without a B.O.S.
I did mine!

I got a bonded title on my bike. When I got my bike, the VIN tag was missing. I guess it's not uncommon on older dirt bikes, especially ones that have been repainted. Took me a day at the DMV. I had to have it inspected (to make sure it wasn't stolen) and then got the bond ($50.00) and the re-assigned it a number. I know that here, if they have the VIN number, they will make you send certified letters to the last know owners, then issue the title.

It was that easy.

Good luck
