If its a dually......most likely will be a Dana 60. Only the SRW truck of that era got the D50 front ends

Ditto. Somewhere in 2002, all SD's came with the D60 front

The dana 50 will have an 1-1/8" pinion nut whereas the 60 has an 1-5/16" nut.

Aside from that, the rest of the differences are inside.

If you have it apart the necked down inner axles are a dead give away.

Diff cover- while the bolt pattern is the same, the dana 50 cover is kind of "stepped down" around the ring gear and wont fit on a 60. The larger diameter of the 60 ring gear requires the full diameter cover bulge. I might be doing a sorry job of explaining it, but if you compare the two, it's easy to see.

Being a 350 dually though, it SHOULD be a 60.

One of them should have a rainbow mark cast into the pumpkin.

housings are actually different...D50s pinion snout is 1" shorter. You can tell just by looking at them from the top.
