In a CJ7, there would be that much of an interference on the DS with the auto to require a two part driveshaft?
I'm asking bc I don't own that setup, but a friend says thats having a hard time on it.
Do you have any pics of a running setup?

Depends on how wide the front axle is, if its stock the drive shaft will be real close to the tranny pan. If its a wider axle you should be ok.

Also depends on clock angle of the T-case, engine offset, and angle of the engine/trans/T-case. With the T-case clocked up and level with the tranny, it gets realy close. On a CJ I've moved the engine to the left for drive shaft clearance, but in a flatty, I've moved the engine to the right and ran a two piece shaft to get more leg room.

I have a 85 cj7 with a chevy 305 and t350 and there is no way to clock my d300 that i can think of. its something i want to do, but the driveline already hits the tranny pan now and has made its own clearance.

Just run a 2 piece shaft. I have pictures of mine in my build thread.

Thanks for your responses.
The axle he's running its a 88- HP and full width, so I really though that the pinion would be offset enough to compensate. Also he will be using a novak adapter for the D300.
I will be doing the build, and I dont like to offset the engine. Mines is offseted to mate the previous toyota axles and I experience a noticeable reduction on ujoint lifetime.
I'll be putting some images when we do the presentation of the axle/mockup.
