Do you have a good trans cooler and a trans temp gauge? If so, you can run OD without needing to lock up the converter, as long as you keep an eye on the temps when driving.

Just an FYI for you, locking up the converter will net a bit more mileage usually and keep the trans cooler.

I have been looking at the converter lock harness. Can you wire up a lock up switch without dropping the pan? Can use the original solenoid and the four prong connector? Keep in mind that I am running my 700r behind a 327 in a toyota landcruiser fj40. I have already rebuilt the tranny and at this point in my game I would really hate to have to drop the pan.

The simple answer is yes. I don't have the wiring pin locations in front of me to give you exact details.
