I have a 02 solid axle tundra with a 94 4-runner steering box and the little u-joint in the steering shaft right where it goes into the steering box broke. I cant seem to find a part number or anything about these on the internet. Anyone have any parts numbers or places online to get these?

I had the same problem on my cab truck steering shaft. Checked everywhere I could think of, and then found out that most of these aren't replaceable, (the ujoint itself, that is), you have to buy the whole joint, yokes and all. The best place I found to get them is on the Summit web site. They have just about anything you need, but it probably won't be listed by the truck, you'll have to measure the steering box input shaft, and may even have to count the splines. Two of these joints ran me over $120, so cheap they ain't. If it's a stock type joint, you may have some luck at the dealership. Hope this helps.

its a stock unit, and i will try the dealership tomorrow and see what they can do. I didnt find anything on summit but i did look for the for a 4-runner, so ill try again looking for steering shafts in general. I might just go look for a junkyard unit thats in good condition.

I'know a local driveline shop here in town sells joints, D-rod steering shafts, etc. Anything for custom steering shafts. The products company name is flaming river. Might do a google search for Flaming river, and see what you come up with.

The rag joint is right there. Did the hard ruber part rip apart, or was it eh actual u-joint?

If its just the rag joint, you can go without it. Just rotate the shaft 90degrees and put two new bolts in the holes.

If its the u-joint, put a wanted add in the Wanted Forum and somebody will sell you the whole PS box end for $15-20. Ill look when I get home and see if I have one, but I think I ditched them all when I went full hydro.

Its the u-joint itself. I am thinking about going with the bentup steering shaft if it will fit but I am not sure if it will.
