I am looking for info on an IH Dana 27 axle I have. All the Dana info I can find only goes down to a Dana 30.
Here is the build date code and BOM# 2 22 7A5 602894 1

I still have a 25, haven't made the upgrade to a 27. One day I guess.
I have been through plenty of the 25's, 27's ,41 and early 44's, what info are you looking for?

I want to decipher the BOM numbers. Such as when it was made and what the BOM lists as the build parts. I know it is not a desirable axle for hard core use. But people who are into restoration use them. I have asked on BB and Just IH and they don't have good BOM# info either.
godevil- Since you have been through several 25's and 27's you know that swaping from a 25 to a 27 is not an upgrade at all. The 25 has a larger ring gear, but the 27 has more ring gear bolts, so it is a wash. From the R&P out they use all the same parts between those two axles.

What are you doing? Just trying to unload it?

I may be able to use it in a restoration maybe not. If not then I'll sell it.

Try OldIHC.org. Those guys are more into restoring IH's. Just don't say you are lifting one. You will really hear ir froma bunch of old guys.

Thanks I had never heard of that site. I know what you mean about mentioning modifications around the restoration guys.
