Well, the weekend and the week before..

I spent it prepping for, haulin' down, and then participating in the Montana 4x4 Association Divide Ride (http://www.m4x4a.org/divideride) in Whitehall, MT.

Trail Ride Forum post (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=698217)

M4x4A Photo Gallery (http://www.m4x4a.org/index.php?module=mGallery2&g2_itemId=51160&g2_highlightId=51859)

Pulled the doors off my trail rig before I left and whipped up some door bars, went wheelin' on Tuesday and smoked the power steering pump (I've been running a cooler for years, but shimmed the relief valve a year or two ago and it made more heat) - also fought vapor lock on Tuesday which all resulted in an additional trans cooler going up front to help the new power steering pump (not modified!) live longer, the hood being removed to make it run cooler, and a trip to the car wash to try to clean out the bottom 1/3 of the radiator that was full of mud from a "Top Truck" event 2 years ago.

Took the green '73 wheelin' for two days with the AC on, then took the trail rig back out for "Carcass Canyon" on Saturday and bashed the windshield frame.

Good times.

Even took both Scouts through town on parade.

Got the '73 stuck in a creek crossing.. somehow, the open diff 33s just don't go where I point 'em like the locked 36" TSLs do..

Wow, how time flys. It's like you just had a bady yesterday and she already driving:smokin:

I worked on my junk, replaced the broken stud in the front housing, replaced all the leaf spring bushings in the front. Cut off and moved my ram assist steering mount, both ends and moved it over a couple inches. Thanks to Mechanos for the idea, fab up a ram assist clamp. Set the toe-in to where it should be.
Worked on my electric fan setup. Having to re-work/repair the shrould.

Y'know, I kept wanting to say, "I've never had a Scout without doors before!" but I had to keep reminding myself about the racer - but it's a very different experience, being suited up, 5pt-ed in, with cage all around you vs a lap belt and leaning back n' relaxing in shorts n' a t-shirt.

Guess I should get it off the trailer and pay the $20 to drive it into work some time this week just because (Hmm.. yeah, about $20 in fuel..)

The doors will need to go back on if I want to wheel it at all this winter.. it gets cold here, y'know. Then again, maybe I'll get something else together for the winter.

Little girl turned the 2yr mark 1.5 weeks ago.. time does fly. "I'm driving" "No, that's daddy's seat" "Daddy broke the Scout" (she's really fond of that phrase.. :D )

Should've taken pictures of her wheelin' her electric ATV last night through the drainage ditch along our field - or getting stuck on clumps of weeds where we were camping.

Finished putting my odd rear axle back together. Its leak free so far. Speedi-sleeves are good so far. Its all good.

Tackled this R&R Sunday afternoon. I called it quits about six hours later. Still need to fill and bleed.

The old original parts had served me well, but the leaks were really to much.

Worked on my camper some more... got it mounted permanently to the trailer. Took care of some other odds and ends getting ready for my river trip this weekend. Just about ready :smokin:

Also hung out with the neighbor chics again... drank a bunch of beer, swam in their pool and got another home cooked meal. :flipoff2:

How old was your pump?

I specifically bought #4 machine washers like it said on Weed's site and they were too big for the cartridge....so I don't know if its a typo or a change over time....anyways, I had some "#3's" I guess since they were smaller.

The first pump I boosted worked great until it blew the "original" hose. I thought maybe it was the pump being to high...not the 30 year old hose :shaking: so I boosted another spare with less pressure (one washer) and its just not been as fun....so this go around I broke the bank, again this weekend, and bought all new stuff from ATSCO. (Pump even had a resv. on it.) Got a new high pressure hose too. Hope to bleed it tonight unless something happens. Maybe nothing will go boom. :homer:

Oh yeah, I need to announce, belated, the birth of my son. He's seven weeks old now, and my little girl will be two tomorrow. So :beer: to my boy and daughter all around.

So here's another reason why you don't want to let your wife read Pirate. How much money you spend on Scouts, and your priorities of #4 washers over the birth of your son...:shaking:
