im starting to work on a samurai and was wondering if i could get some info on using how hard or would even work to run chevrolet axles if anyone has done this or knows any down falls on this please let me know

I got some 1/2 ton chevys on mine. besides the custom mounting pads for the springs and the shocks, you'd need some custom adapter rings to go from sammy drive flanges on the t-case to a chevy flange. I had some made, and no longer use them. I think I still got one. you could have another made real easy. it's basically a male-male adapter that seats into the female pilot on the front of the drive flange. then you have a male pilot coming out the drive flange which seats into the female one on the driveshaft flange. easy, right? I got some custom parts, too. like a chevy cv joint mated to samurai female spline. been looking to get rid of them, too.:smokin::grinpimp:

Biggest downfall I see is that Chevy axles are way more expensive to build than yotas. The lockers, R&P, high steer and every other part will probably cost you more $$$ than yotas. If you're lucky, the set of chevy's you have will be at least 4.10's. If they're 3.73 or less you're pretty screwed.

the axles i have are factory 4:10 locked the truck im taking them out of i used for just playing around in and the body is getting in bad shape i figured it was time for a new toy
