Todd, as it looks now, I'll probably stay on the lake bed. Don't know what anyone else is planning. The motel sounds good, but I don't know how that would work with a check in at 2pm and a check out at noon !! Unless someone took a room Friday til Sunday.

Fat Kid is staying home and holding down the shop cause the Sammi run on the Con is the next weekend.
Then Rob will hold the fort that weekend.

JR and Marilyn with his 'O2 Early Bronco on the trailer, and me driving the Ambler will caravan over on Friday afternoon to miss the Friday traffic and have diner somewhere on Bear Mt. Bl. and meet you poseurs before 8pm on the dry lake. For those of you that have not done night wheeling before, it's good to take a lunch. Post run, we'll recover in the camper on the dry lake with a few hours shut eye until it gets too hot on Sat. morning, and then just drive home. Looking forward to the run. This will be the first run of JR's Bronco since he won the TTC.

dont forget i cant wheel mine that hard.. due to it being my daily driver.. however on that note.. looks like i am getting a 92 ford dually diesel truck that will be my tow rig and my new daily driver... still need to talk to my boss about it.. the motor is out of it, with a burnt valve a couple broken head bolts.. then next year will probably be driving a race car down at cajon speedway....

well let's see here... i leave about 4pm thursday, and in that time i have to

1. put toy axles and spring over w/wrangler springs under a zuk (my ride for SOR)
2. install 4in exhaust and pillar gauges on PSD :D
3. replace f-ed up head on toy with late model closed chamber EFI head (8.6:1) with a turbo :D
4. load truck and trailer
5. try to spend some time sleeping somewhere in there!

Got the engine in Benders truck-- found his historic oil leak= cracked timing chain case ===(JB Weld) fixed !! double stacked ultimate,installed. Now for brakes, P/S pump, drivelines,==
Now even Toad,(RETodd), and Condiment Canine are on the confirmed list !!! Bobbed83 with his freeway/dirt truck-= a maybe !
Fresno Dave and his purrdy lime runner (with new engine) and she has matching shorts, is a confirmed !!
a couple of first timers from here are a go !!
Dammmmn, glad they have a big parking area at the Hammers !!!

Well it looks like i've been talked into it. I was gonna go play in the sand at Pismo where i knew my truck was safe, but it looks like i'm gonna be joining you guys. If my Axle shaft shows up in time i might play on a trail or 2, but I'll probably just hitch a ride with someone else and watch the carnage. I'll be stayin in a friends motorhome on the lakebed, should be nice and warm :D.

Big Johnson is as good of a place to start as any, sounds good to me! I guess if the tin benders can only handle claw, we will understand.:flipoff2: I have never done Wrecking Ball at night yet, so that is on my wish list. Looks like we we have 5 AZ rigs heading out friday.

if your gonna do wrecking ball at night it is best to go down. it is absoultly wicked at night.

wrecking ball would be wicked at night starting from the end (top) !... 'specially the first obstacle.
Upper Johnson was a blast to drive also. Ya' oughta think about doing that one at night from the top(end of trail).....

Brag time. Wrecking' takes about 30 min. To the mail box is about ten. Jack's about 20-25 to the top. At night.

The obstacle your talking about has, unfortunately, gone through some changes. A couple of months ago I was doing wrecking' and was held up by another group in front of me who was broken just short of the obsacle in question. When they finally started moving they decided to winch the big rock, the one that MAKES the squeeze, on the left (going up), out of the way! :mad: They ignored my request to leave the rock where it stands. Well, after they moved it, the obstacle was ruined. It was WIDE. When they left, my buddy and I decided to take some time out for trail repair. Using snatch blocks, we winched a big rock in its place. It's not as good but it is still a challenge. No telling what it looks like now.

Checked into weather.com. for Yucca Valley.

Fri. Aug 2: 8pm-82 degrees, midnight-75 deg.
Sat. Aug. 3: 3am-70 deg.

Sun. Aug4: snow blizard; up to 6' drifts! :eek:

Looks like a good time, can't wait. Glad I'm leaving before Sunday though! :D
