Well, first off you have to tell us what youre tryin to match it to before you get an answer.

Both Engine and tranny are supposed to be from a 98 I dont think the tranny is a 98 or it is a 98 but is not originaly from the same Vehical as the Engine I hope this makes it easier to understand my first post.

Fawkin Newbie first you have to tell us what the problem is.:flipoff2: When you say not matching is it not bolting up or whats the problem. You say tranny only so I assume it's a two wheeld drive kick as the x-fer is married to the tranny. Is all of this going in a samurai or what lets be a little more specific.

now you are getting the hang of it. to answer your question, it is almost impossible unless there are vin numbers stamped into the engine and tranny, which there usually are not!! so i revert to my original counter question, do they bolt up? do they work ? you only got shafted if they DO NOT BOLT UP AND RUN TOGETHER!!! and again i say GET A FAWKIN CLUE!!! :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Yes they do bolt up I have no idea if they work waiting on my toy kicker t-cases from ott so I can finish welding in my motor mounts
.Does the Serial# on the tranny have the years added to it??My tranny starts with 97 is that the year it was manufactured. If I had a Fawkin Clue I wouldnt be asking:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Ask the person who took your $17,000, they should have your problems answered for that kinda money. :flipoff2:

If you spent $3000 on a Tracker motor and tranny, you got shafted even if it does go together.
You might want to find another place to shop.

On second thought, let me sell you my old rig. I only want $6000 for it and it already has a 1999 Chevy Tracker motor and tranny in it. http://www.izook.com/rides/features/timshaver/feature_tim_shaver.htm

Did i miss somthing here? Were there pictures of this junk ?

Id take a big ol guess and say if they're bolted together they stand a good chance of belonging together, as far as if it works or not you should have verified that before you bought it or know the source...!!!

Besides if your buying fawkn adapter kits you owtta be able to figure this shit out !!

Stop being a sally and calm down a bit you start every thread off like this you'll blow a gasket buy the end of next week...

G 16 R 10000 etc.

the G is engine type

16 is displacement 1.6

R is the model year (R=1994 S= 1995)

on the two wheel drive trannys from 99 and up, only fit the 99 and up motors
