Just need to know what year pick ups to look for to find a Chevy front D-60 that has close to YJ width spring pearches.

I have searched a bunch but cant find anything listing what years to look for. Figured I'd go Chevy on the front so I dont have to flip the D300, and to keep the cost down. Should have plenty of d-shaft to get away with the low pinion 60.

Thanks guys.

Yeah seen that before. But again it says nothing about the spring pearch to spring pearch measurements. Are you saying that all the GM D-60's listed there have the same pearch to pearch measurements? And that they are close enough to the YJ's that they will work?

If so thanks, but I would be suprised.

Even if the perch widths were off, were still only talking about grinding off and rewelding a minor part of the total swap. But yes, the perches will be within 1/2 inch of YJ widths. Avalanche has a kit for this BTW.

dont know if this was just a fluke or what but a couple of years back I bought an 86 chevy single wheel one ton with running gear. t-400, 205, 60 &14 bolt. The front and rear went into a 87 yj and I didnt have to anything but bolt them in. the 400 and 205 went in it also and everything lined up. Chevy spring perch widths are the same on the 60 dodges are a bit shorter.

Um, no. Not if the spring pearch has to be built into the side of the pumpkin, as it dose. Thats a bit more involved than your typical grinding, relocating, and re-welding job. :flipoff2:

I think I did mention YJ , The Avalanche kit is for outboarding the springs on a CJ :flipoff2:

Well I guess there are no straight answeres for this question, as I havent gotten one yet. If yall dont know, or dont wanna say you could have just said so.

Just for shits and giggles I'll try one more time.

Are all these GM D-60 fronts close to YJ spring pearch to spring pearch width? If not what years do I look for?

A simple "YES" or "NO" for the first part, and a year spread for the second part of the question would be great. And please if you dont know dont try to answere. :flipoff2:

YES.....73-91 k35 will bolt right in your YJ....did in mine...bolted right up, no clearance issues SOA...real wide w/38.5's. I used a Ford F150 rear driveshaft and it has never come apart at the splines. Springs are OME 2.5...lotsa wrap though. Definitly need some kind of traction link

Stock Wrangler spring perch center to spring perch center is 31.5". Chevy is 31.25". That's only 1/8" off per side. Bolt it in with no mods and fuggetaboudit.

Yall say the chevy 60 is bolt in? i will be putting this axle on my YJ. did you not need to adjust the spring perches for castor? did you not worry about pinion angle? for those who bolted them in, what about these things?

oem chevy front 60 specs, you figure out if it'll work in your rig.
with perch sitting at 0* (horizontal) pinion is roughly 9* rotated up and castor is set at 6* perches are 31.5"apart.
