Installed the Traction bar my friend fabbed up for me. He used Heim joints and thick wall tube, came out sweet:D No more axle wrap with the YJs:D

Looks good! I need to get a traction bar bad... those soft YJ springs are killin' me with my axle wrap. The wrap is causing me to have vibrations with my compound angle (Toy axles). Only happens during acceleration, so I know I need to get a traction bar installed. Again, looks good! ~Steve

Looks Clean, I'm glad that I don't have to run one.:)

If I could get him to build them I know he could sell 'em easy. He has built everything for his Jeep Comanche and gets asked to build stuff on every run, but he is just in it for the fun not money.

how do the Hiem joints at the Axle work? with its triagleated design, they won't flex, or even improve flex. if you just ran one joint at the frame and bushings at the Axle, you would get some dampning and be cheeper. Just a thought, looks good though.:D

Orionn,
The hiem joints on the axle end allow the for slight side to side movement during suspension cycling without putting undo stress on the brackets welded to the thin axle tubes.

There is slight movement in the joints, but nothing that a soft rubber bushing wouldn't handle (and improve on). If you increase the footprint of the bracket a bit to evenly distribute the load of the twisting on the tube, tear-outs will be reduced. it was just a thought, as the bushings would soften the stress' to all the mounts, and increase the life of the frame joint a bit as well.
Just my 2 cents, an observation as it were, not criticism. the bar looks great, and I would like to see a better pic of the axle mount, as well as the frame mount. I am looking to do a very simular setup on mine as well.
good job :D

Orionn,
Your advise is well taken, I just did not get to fancy with the install of the traction bar mount because I plan to go to Toyota axles(rear axle is in the garage already). I just needed something to get me through the Rubicon in two weeks on stock axles. After that I'll start on the Toy axle swap. I'll have to do some more research on attachment points/brackets for the Toyota center section. I'm new to this level of wheelin' I've seemed to have reached and I'm open to all suggestions.
