Finally scored a Dana 44 from a XJ, but no brakes. I believe that I have heard from somewhere that the dana 35 brakes (back plate -> et. al.) will bolt to the xj dana 44?? Anyone confrim this????

I just got done installing my 44, and yeah everything from the backing plate out would have to be swapped. but you can also put ZJ disks on it for about 150 bones.:flipoff2:

Been trying to find some ZJ brakes for my XJ D44 for a month now. Does anyone have any for the $100 price range?

if you stick with the 44's backing plate you MUST run the 44's brake setup, if you want to run a bolt up brake setup, you have to find a NON C-CLIP d35 (84-89 and some 90 XJ's i know for sure) and use EVERYTHING from the acking plate out INCLUDING the backing plate. the wider 11" X 2.??" brakes on the d44 use DIFFERENT backing plates. i tried to make it work, it doesn't. . .
