I have an SJ-410 that I wheel frequently. I ran into a guy that sais SJ's are rare, and to keep it straight. I planned on running 38" Claws, and doing the sawzall fender mods, but now this guy has me wondering if I should buy a Samurai, and start with a rig that is not so rare. Or just hack my SJ?? Opinions.

yes they are rare.....fawk the tard that says "keep it pretty" he can go restore a camaro or something. lets just put it this way. nissan partols of the 60's vintage are hellsa rare and still not worth jack sheit!! chop it and wheel it like you stole it. you will be much happier like us all!!

We have lots of 410's up here. I was lucky enough to find an 86 LWB, thought i was gonna end up with a 410 LWB when i started lookin cuz thats all i ever saw. I got a Milwakee sawzall for those fenders :flipoff2:

Saw the fawk out of it then tube it :flipoff2: with the springs inboarded like they are it should flex like crazy!

I forgot to add if your gonna put that big of tire on it you should stretch the wheelbase out to 95"+ to get anysort of stability on the trail.

Adding wheelbase was my main reason for wanting to saw the tin

Hell my fenders are gone, need room for 34's and the v6. Mine still has beautiful factory paint on the interior with a good headliner. I'm going to wheel the ever living hell out of it. But to each his own. But what do I know I'm just a fawkin Newbie:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Even a LWB or a Pickup will have a date with a sawzall. I have no problem slicing sheet metal in the name of wheeling. It beats a body lift.:eek:

It depends on what the condition is? If it's cherry, I'd buy another samurai. But that's just me. If it is shot to hell.....saw it up.
