I'd like to see some pictures of the underside of your cabs guys. How you tied into the body, where you tied into the body mounts, ect.

Probably because the rockers rust out first then there's no need to, right? At least that's the case with the last 4 70's vintage units I've had....

Yeah, I was just ribbin you back. :D Searched your name and found your build. I know that the final stage of your truck will be a buggy, but are you concerned with the cab mounts still being rubber and then your boatsides being solid to the frame? Looks like that would produce some unusual stress on the cab? I went a searched, but I didn't see a whole lot of pictures of how everything was tied in, just alot of finished shots. I was thinking that replacing the stock cabmount/floor support with something like 2x4 box and tieing that into the boatsides would provide a little more of a "flexable" solution.

Not sure if its the same rig, but I saw the boatsided one (didn't dig deep enough in the thread maybe) I think it was black? It looked pretty sick.

To add to this a little bit, does anyone with a boatsided rig keep it licensed for use on the highway? I quickly scanned the Virginia Motor Vehicle codes and couldn't find anything that would merit a ticket or anything for having it boat sided.

The sub is my buddies. He did an awesome job, his name is 3tonsofun. As for mine, I did away with the front body mounts so All I have is two in the rear. Which doesnt matter because none of it flexes anymore. The cage/boatside was the best thing I could have done for suspension "flex". As for it being legal, nothing illegal about it, drive mine once a week or so. If any thing its more legal because shit cannot roll out without doors.

I'm planning on boatsiding an 86 chev pickup in the next few months. I was thinking of going as high as the lower hinge or maybe a bit higher. I would love to see some pics of how other people have done it but it's surprizing how little shows up in the search. This thread is the most promising, so please post up your boatside pics!

I'll be putting all the parts from my sig in it and lightening up and lowering the rig.
