Two wheel drive tracker power train? I'm thinking of getting a 2 wheel drive tracker with the 1.6 and stock trans and running a divorced dual toy case set up behind it. Of course dumping everything tracker except the hood and doing bare minimum tubing. Anyone got experience with strength issues of the stock trannies?
Thanks

You starting think your Rockwell-Yota is a bit heavy for some stuff?

My last rig (for sale by the way) has a two wheel drive motor and tranny out of a 1999 Chevy Tracker.
It is a 2.0 motor and auto tranny.
I have it to hooked to the Sammy transfer case.
The only problem I had was the length of the transmission.
I have not had any trouble out of either and I broke 7 birfields last year in it.

Too heavy? Naw I'd just like to build something hella light and see what the real difference is. Maybe a 2wd swift motor and trans. would be the ticket. I'd like to build something under 2k pounds. My friend's sami weighs in at like 1800 or something like that. I need to weigh my toy and see what it weighs too. 49 inch Michelins are HEAVY!

Mines 4500 lbs, a little heavier than I thought it would be.

I also love the idea of the OTT Kicker II, Tracker tranny, 1/2 the tracker tcase (just the reduction half) and a toy case all married! Now thats cool but you's need really low axle gears as you'd end up with a 1:1 high range. If my ship ever comes in thats the setup i'll run with a 4 speed auto, and 5.83's!

Kerry Wittig has a Tracker with a 1600 and toy tranny with married dual toy tcs. I have heard that his rig works really well.
