My truck has not been hot starting, meaning if I drive it for a little while, shut it down and try to restart it, it will just crank and crank. Half an hour later or longer it will finally turn over. My truck has a few performance parts on it and I made an appointment at the dealership to get it looked at and I'm wondering what I should remove so that I will not waste my time(edge chip, anks exhaust, intake) Any ford dealer techs advice? Thanks, Jake.

Pull the chip - return it to stock. And never tell them that you installed one. Most dealers won't touch them if you have used a chip/programmer. I am assuming you are asking because it is a warranty issue.

Yeah I'm at 88k and from what I've researched it sounds like a HPOP or STC fitting, I'm not very familiar with these trucks, my last one was a 94 12 valve which was pretty easy to deal with. I will definitely pull the edge before taking it in. Thanks for the help.

Being an Edge "plug-n-play" it will leave history in the PCM and a good tech will see it. All the manufactureres are making it so the newer trucks are leaving history in other modules so they can pick up on tuners. The newer PCM's, ECU's, etc are being programmed to record the amount reflashes from other tuners too.

The hot start problem is the classic symptom of IPR o-rings on the 7.3 since the 6.0 shares the basic HEUI concept that'd be a good place to start.

BTW on the 7.3 for consideres the IPR a non serviceable unit and will replace the whole thing for $3-400 the o-ring kit from an international dealer is $20-30 and an easy job just need some big wrenches.

Just got off the phone with the dealer, the HPOP seal was cracked. They are replacing it under warranty, all I have to pay is $100 deductable. :smokin:
