I have a 5.0 engine out of an '81 Bronco that I put it in a '85 Bronco II, it cuts out every once in a while when accelerating to hard and will sometimes die after start up. Doesn't seem to be operating to its max power....I have changed spark plugs, plug wires, rebuilt carburator, new fuel filter, and new fuel pump. Any other suggestions??????

I'd first check my fuel pressure and make SURE the "new" fuel pump is alright.....just my .02
How old is your 302? It sounds to me like its perhaps your timing. First, check your distributer. Is the advance working correctly? If it is, then you will have to buck up and start tearing into your engine. Remove the intake, and valve covers. Check your rocker arms. Pull the pushrods and the lifters. Check them for wear. Get a flash light and look at the cam lobes. Are they worn at all?
A buddy of mine had the same problems with a chevy BB, the lobes on his cam had worn nearly flat.

Before you tear the engine apart, throw a Vacuum gauge on it and see what that tells you.
You should have steady 15-20" of Hg at idle, without any fluctuations.
If it jumps around you could have a bad cylinder: bent push rod, burnt valve, bad cam lobe, bad injector, etc.
