Bought a CJ 7 with regaurds to do a frame up build. Planned on just doing a stock tub with basic 33's, flat fenders, some motor work and call it good. This way it would still be able to drive me around in the city, yet still be able to handle some trails. While I was looking for a tub I stumbled across a already comp. cut tub. That got me thinking well maybe I should just build a full out trail rig? I also picked up an old J10 truck of my uncle for the motor but it also has full width dana 44 axles that could be put under it as well! I wouldnt want it to extreme, most likley the biggest I would go would be 36" tires. I figure with like a 4 inch lift, tube fenders, and the comp cut tub it would fit. So that brings the topic... Show me your trail rig CJ's. Especailly if you have one thats comp cut!....

Thanks xulcux,
I have added a custom roll cage, PSC tube fenders, a new Ramsey 9500 UT, and OMF beadlock since then. I just don't have any trail pics of it yet.

You say tub...are you building a new frame?

Here's my '72.

Stock springs, no lift & 35"s, the tube fenders help.

Don't forget to brace your steering box

It's down right now getting a T18, D18 gears and longer shocks and brakelines.

'80 CJ5. XJs both ends. I wanted a fairly stock looking body, so I stretched the tub about 5 1/2"

I've seen yours, and it looks good.

What I was wondering is what a XJ spring stretch with a comp cut looks like. I also wasn't interested in lengthening the frame.

Thanks--The cage is due largely to the efforts of a couple friends with some minor grunt labor and head scratching on my part. I'm real happy with the way it turned out.

Here's a better pic (prior to cutting the fender wells out and adding the corners):

hey CJay, what springs do you have front and rear? what did it take to get 100? besides the stretch package obviously.
are you running their stretch gas tank too, or a fuel cell?

I'm using JC Whitney HD CJ rear springs at all four corners. These have worked out well for me in a stock wheelbase (SOA) configuaration so I decided to just move the spring hangers to extend the wheelbase.

I'm running a RCI 2161A fuel cell in the tub:

Here's my rust bucket. The pictures are a little outdated. It's a little less janky now. CJ-5, stretched to 103", full width D44s (building 9" for rear), four linked F&R, TBI 4.2, T-18, Scout D300, hydro assist, 37s. It works pretty well, but if I had to do over, I would have just found a 60 and 14 Bolt and gone with 40s or 42s. Its definitely not a very road worthy rig, but its fun in the rocks.
