I'm not sure about Kern county, check with this site http://www.calccw.com/Forums/. They will be able to tell you.

Phil are you applying to KCSD or Ridgecrest Police? (if they have their own dept.

RCPD is the local cops, but I'm applying directly to KCSD.

Calccw.com doesn't have any Kern specific info I can find.
