: 4 inch lift: 33's or 35's???
74_Chevota 07-28-2002, 06:31 PM Well yall since i finuly got my cruiser last monday, I decided to start thinkin on a lift. I have already decided on the 4 inch (or SOA if i can talk my dad into it  ). I have herd 35's work with a 4 inch lift but i want flex room as well. I thought about 33's but would they look TOO small??? Thanks for all the help guys and hopefully me and my brother (mountaineermac) can have the cruiser runnin by tommaro!! :) ;)
wngrog 07-28-2002, 06:41 PM 35-36" Swampers work with a 4" sua. Get the sawzall out on the rear fenders and have at it.
I recommend learning to wheel the Cruiser in SUA form and then spring it over later.
74_Chevota 07-28-2002, 06:56 PM The back fenders have already ben cut somewhat. He has cut out flares on there now. How much flex room should i have with 35's?
wngrog 07-28-2002, 06:58 PM If you stick with 35 x 12.50's you will have all the flex room the SUA springs will give you.
74_Chevota 07-28-2002, 07:13 PM Does anybody have any pics 4 inches and 35's? My dad wants to see what it looks like.
FeCamel 07-28-2002, 08:31 PM Here is an old pic of mine with ~4" of lift total and 285/75/R16, which are about 33" tall. If you have flexy springs AT ALL, the 35s will rub.

wngrog 07-29-2002, 03:33 AM Mine with 35 x 12.50's
72rockcruiser 07-29-2002, 07:33 AM I have about 5.5" spring under (2.5" springs w/ shackle rev. and long shackles front, 4" rear springs w/ long shackle rear) my 35 x 12.50s just barely hit, but it flexes pretty nice. also, i live in charlotte, lets wheel! kyle11078@aol.com, e-mail me. if you want, you can see pics of my rig on www.core4x4club.com under the members section. (the site goes down alot, so keep trying!)

dieselcruiserhead 07-29-2002, 10:27 AM A good deal right now, I think, are the 4" Big Dick Suspension. Comes with shocks, all mounting hardware, and everything for somewhere around $500. The best deal I saw was at Cool Cruisers of Texas (http://www.coolcruisers.com), $429 I believe for the kit, but I'm not sure if they are still selling it. Try bds-suspension.com (http://www.bds-suspension.com/) to find another retailer maybe someone near you.
dieselcruiserhead 07-29-2002, 10:34 AM Here is a direct link to the CCOT page, (http://store.yahoo.com/coolfj40/liftkitfj40.html) looks like it's a "call or email for price" deal and another $125 for shipping so maybe you want to check locally. I know of a lot of 40s with 4" springs and 35s, I used to rub under extreme articulation with 34" Swampers on my 40 and never did any damage. With a mild to medium tire and 4" springs you should be fine with 35s.

74_Chevota 07-29-2002, 03:48 PM Thanks guys! i realy hope i can get 35's!! I am kinda leaneing toward the Penicle Enginearing suspension lift from JT outfiters. If anyone has anymore pics i would love to see them!! To bad i cant get the cruiser running tonight because my parts didnt come :(
fj40guy 07-30-2002, 07:53 AM Goose has about a 4" lift, STOCK body, and 33 x 12.5" tires.
Since your rear fenders are already cut, I would go with the 35" tires.
