Well Just got back from ERoCC and man it was a blast~!!! Mike aka SpaceGhost is one hell of a driver! Jim aka RkCrawl had a bit of bad luck but had a sweet rig and did well except for the bad luck and it was great to meet him and others from the board. I'm not sure as i didn't stay for the awards but i think Troy Meyers came in 1st place in unlimited. It rained a bit at the end of today but other then that it was dry and hot. Can't wait for the September event.

just got in also.
troy has a nice ride. though i think shupe stole the show,
when he was the only one to get a negative 12 points
on the one obsticale, can't remember the name of it.

Shupe was the ONLY one to climb Crow's nest, and it was a 12 point bonus climb. Shupe told me he wanted that hill renamed "Troy's Dream". Troy didn't attempt it. Frankie Fountain put on one HELL of a show on that hill Saturday, on a freshly rebuilt motor (so I was told). Chris Durham also gave it a valid try, and provided a great show as well.

Mike Smyth (Spaceghost) - well.....he didn't do to bad either, considering he was in a 'cruiser!! :flipoff2: Seriously, Mike was fully on his game this weekend! Good job Mike!!:D

Troy - I know you lurk here, so.....Congrats man!!! You were on this weekend!! :D

Must have been an Indiana thing for this event!!

I think frankie has a story to eventually tell everyone sometime, but I'll let him do that. Yeah shupe was a blast to watch gong up crow's nest. I was just hoping that'd shut the damn radio guy up when he made it. Troy's just got one of those types of rigs you can't stop drooling over and he and his spotter work great together. Congrats if indeed u did win. also gotta mention the fella's in the stockish green cj5 on 33's from MOAB offroad ("in Kentucy!!!") that thing was quite as hell but they could really drive that sucka.

Yea Frankie has a hell of a story to tell. He had electrical problems with his motor and it was "only" putting out about 200-250 h.p. The story starts after he gets his electrical bug fixed and finds about 250 to 300 more horsepower out in the parking lot.
Like Rockjeep said though, I'll let him tell you.

I got back last night about midnight central time. I didnt start getting tired until the last hour or so.

The event was once again bad ass! The only complaint that I have is the two groups format. I liked it better when there was 4 groups. Less crowding on the obstacles, moved quicker, etc...

Other than that, thank you again to the TrailKeepers for bustin tail! I know that is a LOT of work and we appreciate it!

I want some final standings! How did Mike end up?

I was down there on Sat. Frankie's show was just too funny IMHO. He gave it hell trying. I wish I could've been there on Sun. to see shupe make crow's nest, I didn't think anybody would make it after the reaper tore it to hell. How many others were close enough to go running for cover when he started chuckin' rocks 100'? Troy was definately on his game, looked like all the guys from the badlands were doing fairly well. What did the guy in the blue CJ on 42's end up breaking on sat. at the end of the day. I know he entered that 2nd to last course with no 4lo, just wondering if he finished off the tcase. That's when I left. I'll definately be there for the Sept. event for the whole weekend.

I think you're talking about "Full Throttle". He finished off that D300 with his 454 . It's the second one he's grenaded in ~3 months. Told me that an Atlas will be the replacement and we'll see them in the Sept. finals.

I'm Tired! That course in the parking lot at the BW was brutal Saturday night. :flipoff2:

I'll be back and get into this thread after a pot of coffee.

First order of business is to say a "BIG" thanks to ALL the Trailkeeper's, the vounteers, judges, course desiger(s), and of course the back bone of the Erocc's event, those "wonderful significant others". You all ROCK!

Now will the "real" Ken Shupe step forward!

As a matter of fact yes they did, but in a round about way. They really didn't have the stuff there to help, but mentioned a local guy who uses their shop to fix his trucks, and he was expected back soon. So we took the number and planned to call if our luck didn't change. We headed back to the BW and Jeff (with Chris Durhams help, nice going guys) was replacing the output shaft of his tcase. There stood a local fellow named Chuck who helped them find the tcase there in Jellico. Turns out he is the guy the shop was talking about. He took me a few minutes down the road and I bought a whole front axles for parts at Jellico prices!

Thanks Chuck! And Tim!

15 minutes before the ceremony we found out the recording could not be found. We had to run around and find someone to sing it in that time period. The guy from Morley Baptist Church stepped forward at the last minute to help us out, or else Chad would have had to sing it.

Great event BTW, $10 a carload to get in is cheap. Even though I was a loner, it was well worth the $10. I was glad to see porto-johns available, and plenty of food and drinks for people to buy. Great prices on the food too, when you could have bent people over if you wanted to. $2 for a burger, $1 for a dog, and only .75 cents for a 20 oz water or can of Coke was more than fair. Thank you. Glad you had a good time. The food booth was provided by the Morley Baptist Church, who sets their own prices. We charge them a small fee to setup a booth at the event. Me thinks maybe we need another food booth though, based on the length of the lines at times.

Personally, I think you need to have 4 of those trailers setup. 2 back where the Morley group was and 2 out to the front. Trust me, they'll all get the business. People won't go use them when there is a huge line because they don't want to miss any action. Even if it's the Morley group with 4 trailers, they'll see a huge increase in the $$$ they make. They need to make sure they don't run out of food again also. My buddy and I stood in line for 20 mins and when we got close, they ran out of burgers and dogs. I'm not bitchin' cuz I had snacks with me, but you and they would be better off with more than just 2 food trailers.

We are working to get more food vendors there. We had 2 vendors at the June event, but one of them could not make this event. We warned the Morley Baptist Church that they were the only one and to bring lots of food, but they can only bring so much because they don't have a freezer.

They are working on a freezer and they are trying to get another trailer.

The other group that did the June event is planning on being at the September event.

If we can't find any other church groups or non-profits willing to do it, we will find a company to sell. But we would rather give back to the community.

Make it mandatory that everyone gets the same type of products as the Morley group. I think everyone will agree with me that their burgers and dogs actually taste damn good. No wonder they sold out, I was buying 4 dogs at a time they were so good. Hamburgers were the same. And only $1/dog

Hey Tim and Chad, just something to consider passing on to the food vendors, that they might want to have something like PB&J or grilled cheese sandwiches on the menu. I don't eat meat, and therefore my choices for food were limited. I think at minimum they would sell tons of PB&J to kids. I am not complaining at all, just passing on a suggestion to make EROCC even better

Oh man, snocones would've gone over way too huge. I doubt that there would've been enough ice in Jellico for that ;) I hope you don't think I was complaining either, just trying to give helpful suggestions. PB&J sounds like a good idea too. If they do grilled cheese it would have to be on a seperate grill for the true veg heads. The Morley group did have some of the best burgers I've had in quite a while.

We didn't think you were complaining - we want the feedback. Feedback from this board and others was the reason we had the transportation for the disabled, why we moved the DJ out of the info booth, why we distributed the driver list at the driver's meeting, etc.

Aren't there plenty of twigs and berries around the course already for the true veg heads? ;) Seriously, we will suggest the grilled cheese and PB&J to them.
