I need a quick opinion. I'm building a tube chassis crawler with Jeep body. It's going to be 5.3 Chevy/Turbo 350/NP203;NP205 doubler with Dana 60 front and Corp 14 rear. My question is tire/rim options. I have access to KMC XD Series beadlocks at a steal of a price (horse trade for work done). They are the 17" x 8.5" and I was thinking of using the BFG Mud Terrain T/A KM2 in 40" x 14.5". Do you think this is a viable combo? Please don't flame to hard as I am kinda new to the sport and this seems to be the most closely matched forum for the question.

Well since you have no location,,,, And you do not explain what your terrain is like there is no way to give you any tire choice advice..........:shaking:

8.5 rim seems a little narrow imo

Well 14.5 tires on 8.5 rims...the beads will never pop that's for sure...

that rim choice is fine...... the BFG MT is a pretty good all around tire for just about any location. Let us know where you are located and what kind of terrain you run to give a better recomendation. those wheels are about the same width as H1's and many of us run those with wide tires
