my friend has a bronco2 with an explorer engine. he is having problems with the truck "lurching" at times. he has been told that its most likely because someone has put an explorer sending unit in the bronco2 gas tank. their solution for him is to get an explorer tank to put in it, or us a fuel cell.
my noob question is this..has anyone tried to swap a bronco2 tank with an explorer tank? are they close to the same, or is it too much of a pain to do and he should just get a fuel cell?
we know the fuel cell is the best answer, but money is tight.
i appriciate any info.

i doubt the truck lurching is the fuel tank i had that problem with a late 90's camaro i think it had something to do with the coil on that one. other than that im car retarded

Not even close to the same... Start with basic diagnostics.. spark, fuel pressure, pull codes...

I think a better idea would be to put the Bronco II sending unit/pump back into the BII tank (or swap to the '89/'90 single-pump style if it was an earlier model).

+1, do some diagnostics before just jumping at what someone tells you. You'll save a ton of money and hassle that way.
