: Notes from the range today.

Me and 3 other guys from the fire dept. went to the range today. My AR severely pissed me off until I finally figured out that the reloads that my father-in-law were not resized and that was the reason that the bolt wouldn't go into battery and I kept having to pry it open with a screwdriver. Other notes:

A mom and her three daughters make for nice range company.
Until one of the daughters accidentally sweeps you with a loaded rifle.
Some old guy with three huge bolt actions shot about once every 10 minutes.
But his dime sized groups were impressive.
A short barrelled MP-5 is way too much fun:smokin:
My new AR eats wolf like candy.
Its nice when it is already sighted in from the factory.

That is all. I am all out of 5.56 and 9mm now. Got to make some big purchases.

We went to the range at Gee Creek. Take 411 south through Etowah, and just before you cross over the Hiwassee River, turn left into the state forest. Gravel road for about 3 miles to a nice range.

I'm going to have to stock up on 9mm and 5.56 for sure.

she didn't accidentally sweep you, she saw you staring at her boobeez and decided that was the best way to get your attention elsewhere.

Did better than me then, course when one is changing reloading vairiables its kinda expected that one will run into a couple clinkers along the way...:D

Powder type, powder volume and sized slug diameter were my choices with me settling on lyman 457193 in a .459 size and 70 gr 3f in one instance and
lyman 457132 .459 and a still to be determined volume and grade (2f looks good but I may meander over to a 1.5f...)

Oh and one must remember to return the scope settings back to zero after doing 15 mph windage adjustments the previous time out before blaming things on a load... :shaking: :D
