View Full Version : Poteau ok trails?

The last time I was in Poteau the trails we went to were gated and had no trespassing signs, there was a way around the gates and I was told it was ok to run the trail, we did, but the whole time we were there I was somewhat uncomfortable about it. any more info on Poteau trails would be appreciated.

Last time that we were down there the trails on Cavanal Hill were open. Poteau mountain is still closed down. I have had the same uneasy feeling of driving around the gate before. You can always drive up the road to the top and come down a trail and then run up a different one. Last I heard the trails down there are getting grown over big time. Since Clayton has gotten so popular there isn't any traffic on Cavanal. Some of the guys that I run with went to Poteau on Memorial weekend and they were the only rigs on the trails all weekend.

In my opinion, Cavanall is as still some of the best wheeling in Oklahoma! The hard, hard stuff at Green Acres is uncomparable. I hope to get to Poteau the next time I get to go wheeling!

The trails on Cavanal still have the gate on them there is another road a little ways on down the main road and yes the trails are very grown up we are kinda lazy we talk alot about going up and doing some trimming,maybe when it cools off some.

we have been trying to go for a month now. it seems crazycjman has a problem with his boss or he is a company man taking care of business, you know you have to be a company man to get that big gold company ring:flipoff2:

in Oklahoma if a road has existed for 7 years then it is considered a public road and cannot be gated blocked or destroyed. wheel the roads dont feel bad but watch out for rednecks with shotguns who think they own everything.
