found this truck and was wondering if you guys think it would be worth looking in to as a project. i love 70ʻs fords and even though this one is rough i think it would be worth it. what would you guys do about the cab though, it looks like it is only smashed in the front.

you could fix the cab enough to get a windshield back in there. or just get the part thats wrecked and weld in a new one from a junkyard truck. just my thoughts of doing it cheap

It'd be a project alright, prolly pretty pricey unless you're a body guru. I only paid $2000 for my 75, but the cab was good- replaced the front clip and front doors and the bed. bought a 600 parts truck and a 300 bed.. It doesn't have the 460 or the 60 front end, but for what you'd be into that one I could go that route if I chose. I'd shop around some more...

I can find cabs for $500-1000, so I'd be all over that. It might be just me, but it looks like the cab near the beltline at LR door might have gotten into the bed and damaged it. If the rear half of the cab is good, you can patch in pieces from a regular cab, as the crew cabs are made from cut up reg cabs.

cabs for 500-1000... They want as much for a cab as a full truck around here, beds are a bit tough to find, I actually went with a 2wd bed and made mounts to adapt for it...

If you are in HI, like that truck is, It is worth the price, considering how much shipping will run, and what a crew cab is worth. Lots of money worth of parts on it.

yup

just verify that it still has the front d60[dual piston brakes, king pins, d60 on the web casting] and you have a decent setup, i like that its a crew cab not just an extra.

ya im in hawaii
havenʻt had a chance to see the truck, but the same guy has an other truck, but itʻs in bad shape, no bed, rusty, smashed in front for $300, it looks that the top half of the cab is good though. can i wack off the top of the $hit truck and splice it to the crew cab?

Yes i never realized how rare they are. I always liked the regular bronco cabs but for what i have in it and whats already done to it i couldnt go wrong. 4 inch suspension, 3 body, winch, custom bumpers, 44 front, 9 inch rear, 33s, wore out 302, 3 speed. Its painted desert camo '' which i will change to OD green '' I got a windser and a granny gear 4 speed to go in it this fall or winter. Needs back tires but i think i am going to put 35s on or 34s super swampers. Im not doing any hard core wheeling with it. Its just going to be for fun and a cool driver there isnt alot of places to legally go off road in Maryland. If i figure out this site alittle better i will post a couple pics. Trying to use a pic as my avatar but cant make it work.
